Questions about the converter
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. There is no upload endpoint for conversion at all. Your file is read into the page, converted by your own browser, and offered back as a download. Close the tab and nothing remains.
Which conversions are supported?
JPG, PNG, and WebP convert between each other and into PDF. HEIC and HEIF photos from Apple devices convert to JPG, PNG, WebP, or PDF. DNG raw files convert the same way. PDF pages convert to JPG, PNG, or WebP, and a multi-page PDF comes back as a ZIP with one image per page.
Why does a DNG file convert so quickly?
Because it is not developed like a raw editor would. Converter Lab extracts the full-resolution JPEG preview your camera already embedded in the DNG. That is the right result for sharing and archiving, but it is not a substitute for a raw workflow with exposure and white-balance control.
Is there a file size or file count limit?
There is no imposed limit, but everything runs in a browser tab, so your device's memory is the real ceiling. Very large PDFs and long batches can exhaust it — convert those in smaller groups.
Why is the converted image larger than the original?
PNG and WebP are lossless-capable formats, so converting an already-compressed JPG into one of them can grow the file. Pick JPG when a smaller file matters more than a perfect copy.
