Questions about Name Lab

Are the domain results reliable enough to act on?

Availability comes from a registry lookup, so it reflects the status at the moment you check. That status can change within minutes, and a registered domain may still be for sale. Treat the result as a strong signal and confirm at a registrar before you commit to a name.

Why do some social platforms say to check manually?

X and YouTube can be checked reliably. Instagram and Facebook put their profile endpoints behind a login wall for most requests, so instead of guessing, Name Lab gives you the profile URL to open yourself. The goal is no confident wrong answers.

Do you keep my searches?

Queries are sent to the domain and social endpoints only to run the check you asked for. They are not kept as permanent records, and there is no account attached to them.

Where do the name suggestions come from?

From a language model when one is configured, guided by the sector and character you pick, with a built-in generator as the fallback. Either way the suggestions are a starting point — the availability checks next to them are what tell you whether a name is actually usable.

Does a free domain mean the name is free to use?

No. Domain and handle availability say nothing about trademarks. Before you build a brand on a name, search the trademark registers for the countries and classes you plan to trade in.
