Text Lab: Word counter and case converter

NewCount, convert, and clean up text — word counts, case conversion, slugs, and line tools in one editor.

Case

Code and URL

Lines

Nineteen text operations, no page reloads

The counter every writer needs and the case conversions every developer needs, in one editor that handles Turkish characters correctly.

Live counts

Words, characters with and without spaces, sentences, paragraphs, lines, and reading time update as you type.

Case conversion

Upper, lower, title, and sentence case, applied to the whole text in one click.

Developer cases

camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, and CONSTANT_CASE from any input, including camel-cased source.

Turkish-aware slugs

ş, ğ, ı, İ, ö, ü, and ç fold to their ASCII equivalents, so a Turkish title becomes a clean URL slug.

Line tools

Trim, drop empty lines, collapse spaces, remove duplicates, sort, reverse, and number lines.

Undo everything

Every transform is stacked, so you can step back through up to twenty operations without retyping.

Questions about the text tools

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. The editor and every transform run in your browser, so the text stays on your device even when you download it as a .txt file.

Is Text Lab free, and does it work offline?

Yes. Text Lab is free, with no account, no sign-up, and no usage limit. It runs entirely in your browser, so once you have opened the page while online, it keeps working without a connection.

How is reading time calculated?

Word count divided by 200 words per minute, rounded up to the next whole minute. That figure is the common average for silent reading of general prose.

Does the slug tool handle Turkish characters?

Yes. Turkish letters are folded to ASCII before the slug is built, and the dotted capital İ and dotless ı both become a plain i rather than the mismatched result you get from a naive lowercase call.

How are sentences counted?

By counting runs of text that end in a period, exclamation mark, question mark, or ellipsis. Abbreviations and decimal numbers can inflate the count slightly, so treat it as an estimate.

Can I undo a transform?

Yes. The last twenty operations are kept, and Undo steps back through them one at a time. Clearing the editor is also undoable.
